Disfellowship -
Gossip, Slander & Tale-bearing
Matthew
18:10-17 Take heed that
ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven
their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 18:11 For
the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
Mat 18:12 How
think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray,
doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and
seeketh that which is gone astray?
Mat 18:13 And
if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that
sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
Mat 18:14 Even
so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these
little ones should perish.
Mat 18:15
Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his
fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained
thy brother.
Mat 18:16 But
if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that
in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
Mat 18:17 And if he shall neglect to
hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the
church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
1Corinthians
5:1 It is reported
commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as
is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his
father's wife.
1Co 5:2 And ye
are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed
might be taken away from among you.
1Co 5:3 For I
verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as
though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,
1Co 5:4 In the
name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit,
with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
1Co 5:5 To
deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the
spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
1Co 5:6 Your
glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the
whole lump?
1Co 5:7 Purge
out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are
unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
1Co 5:8
Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the
leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of
sincerity and truth.
1Co 5:9 I
wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
1Co 5:10 Yet
not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or
extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
1Co 5:11 But
now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a
brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a
drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
1Co 5:12 For
what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them
that are within?
1Co 5:13 But them that are without
God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
2Co 2:6
Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted
of many.
2Co 2:7 So
that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort
him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch
sorrow.
2Co 2:8
Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.
Romans 16:17-18
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and
offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
Rom 16:18 For they that are such
serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and
fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
Proverbs 11:13 A talebearer revealeth
secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
Pro 18:8
The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the
innermost parts of the belly.
Pro 20:19
He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore
meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.
Pro 26:20
Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is
no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.
Pro 26:21
As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a
contentious man to kindle strife.
Pro 26:22 The
words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the
innermost parts of the belly.
Pro 26:23
Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with
silver dross.
Pro 26:24 He
that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him;
Pro 26:25 When
he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations
in his heart.
Pro 26:26
Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before
the whole congregation.
Pro 26:27
Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will
return upon him.
Pro 26:28 A lying tongue hateth
those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.
Psalm 101:5
Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an
high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
I Peter 3:10 For he that will love
life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips
that they speak no guile:
James 1:26 If any man among you seem
to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart,
this man's religion is vain.
James 3:1
My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater
condemnation.
Jas 3:2 For in
many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is
a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
Jas 3:3
Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we
turn about their whole body.
Jas 3:4 Behold
also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven
of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm,
whithersoever the governor listeth.
Jas 3:5 Even
so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how
great a matter a little fire kindleth!
Jas 3:6 And
the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our
members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of
nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
Jas 3:7 For
every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the
sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
Jas 3:8 But
the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly
poison.
Jas 3:9
Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which
are made after the similitude of God.
Jas 3:10 Out
of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things
ought not so to be.
Jas 3:11 Doth
a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
Jas 3:12 Can
the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so
can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
Jas 3:13 Who
is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out
of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
Jas 3:14 But
if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not
against the truth.
Jas 3:15 This
wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
Jas 3:16 For
where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil
work.
Jas 3:17 But
the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and
easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and
without hypocrisy.
Jas 3:18 And the fruit of
righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
Romans 2:1 Therefore thou art
inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou
judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the
same things.
Hebrews 12:15
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of
bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
Heb 12:16 Lest
there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one
morsel of meat sold his birthright.
Heb 12:17
For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing,
he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it
carefully with tears

Judge not, that ye be not judged.
Mat 7:2 For
with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye
mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Mat 7:3 And
why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest
not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:4 Or how
wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye;
and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast
out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast
out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
I John 2:2
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for
the sins of the whole world.
Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ
Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:

2Co 5:18 And
all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus
Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
2Co 5:19 To
wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not
imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of
reconciliation.
2Co 5:20 Now
then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by
us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might
be made the righteousness of God in him.
Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God
unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to
the Greek.
Rom 1:17
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it
is written, The just shall live by faith.
Romans 3:21
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being
witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Rom 3:22 Even
the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all
and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Rom 3:23 For
all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Rom 3:24 Being
justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ
Jesus:
Rom 3:25 Whom
God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood,
to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past,
through the forbearance of God;
Rom 3:26 To
declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be
just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Rom 3:27 Where
is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by
the law of faith.
Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that
a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
